I've been pondering a question. It's a good one, a question most do not know the answer to. What is beauty? What makes a person beautiful? I might not be old enough to know, but this is one of my major struggles I fight myself with. I've been seeking and I think there is no one answer because beauty comes in all forms of shapes and sizes, all colors, all seasons, all ages.

But what is beauty at its core? For a girl who isn't even 5 feet tall and definitely not a size 4 I had to look harder than skin deep to find a possible solution. I mean sheesh I used to be Mary-Kay beauty consultant for crying out loud, I need to know! Which leads me to this conclusion. Everyone possesses a certain beauty, I've known women who don't wear make-up, are rather full figured and are some of the most beautiful people I know. We all have beauty in one way or another. My mother for instance is one of the most compassionate, loving women I've had the pleasure of knowing, her heart is the size of Texas, seriously! I know on the outside she is also breath-taking but I believe it's her soul that makes her that way.

Knowing who you are in Christ and having the confidence to go along with that is super fly! I mean really a person who loves themselves and are comfortable in their own skin is captivating! Talk about a foxy lady! And it makes the people around them start to love who they are as well. So, what makes YOU beautiful? Is it your laugh, smile, gentleness, strength, honor, peacefulness, your voice, your passion, or maybe the way you put others before yourself?

We need to stop looking at Hollywood's idea of beauty and listen to the Lord. What does He say about all of this? Hmmm noble character is worth far more than rubies. The Lord sees us as perfect and flawless, His blood covered us to make us this way. He calls us His dove in the clefts of the rock. He wants us to show Him our face because He says it is beautiful. He wants to hear our voice because it is lovely. Just look at the creation God made for us, it is beckoning come to me, God has filled this earth with romance, awe and wonder. Because we are His cherished ones, He wants us to delight in His creation. He loves to see us smile, laugh and dance in His glory.
